To strengthen its operations, Ecofleet Solutions Ltd is looking for competent, motivated, and results-oriented professionals to join its Operations & Compliance Department.

Position Summary

The Inspector plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of Kigali's public transport system. The successful candidate will monitor transport operations, protect company revenue, enforce operational standards, and ensure that buses, drivers, and services comply with company policies and service level agreements (SLAs).

The Inspector serves as Ecofleet's frontline representative, promoting service quality, operational discipline, and customer satisfaction across the transport network.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Protection & Fraud Prevention

- Conduct regular inspections to verify passenger tickets and digital fare payments.

- Detect and report fare evasion, ticketing fraud, and unauthorized revenue collection.

- Verify trip records against digital revenue reports to ensure financial accountability.

- Support audits and investigations related to fare collection and revenue management.

Driver Performance & Conduct Monitoring

- Monitor driver behavior to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.

- Report cases of misconduct, absenteeism, unauthorized route deviations, and unsafe driving practices.

- Support the orientation and onboarding of newly recruited drivers.

- Promote professionalism and adherence to operational procedures.

Fleet & Operational Compliance

- Inspect buses before departure to ensure cleanliness, roadworthiness, and safety compliance.

- Monitor schedule adherence, punctuality, and route performance.

- Document operational incidents, accidents, mechanical breakdowns, and service disruptions.

- Ensure buses operate in accordance with company service standards.

Customer Service & Service Quality

- Investigate passenger complaints related to service delivery or staff conduct.

- Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and customer-focused service.

- Work closely with operational teams to improve service quality and passenger satisfaction.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The successful candidate will be assessed based on:

- Reduction of fare evasion and revenue losses.

- Improvement in driver discipline and operational compliance.

- Timely submission of accurate inspection and incident reports.

- Reduction in passenger complaints.

- Improved punctuality and route adherence across assigned operations.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess:

Education

- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Transport Management, Public Administration, Logistics, or a related field.

Experience

- Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in transport operations, inspection, security, law enforcement, or a related field.

- Experience using GPS fleet tracking systems, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), or automated fare collection systems is an added advantage.
