Ubudasa Sacco Bugesera (USB) is a District Savings and Credit Cooperative established following the consolidation of fifteen Umurenge SACCOs operating in Bugesera District under the Government of Rwanda SACCO consolidation framework.


USB is registered under RCA Certificate No. RGDG0133324 and licensed by the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) in accordance with Law N° 072/2021 governing Deposit-Taking Microfinance Institutions.

Job Summary


Ubudasa Sacco Bugesera is seeking to recruit a competent, committed, and self-motivated IT Officer (Hardware & Software) to support its IT operations and ensure efficient and secure technology services across Head Office, branches, and sub-branches.


The IT Officer will provide technical support, maintain IT infrastructure, and ensure smooth operation of systems including hardware, software, networks, and the Core Banking System (CBS).


Key Responsibilities


Under the supervision of the Head of Operations, the IT Officer will:


1. Technical Support & System Administration


Provide first-line support for hardware, software, and network-related issues


Support Core Banking System (CBS) users at Head Office, branches, and sub-branches


Respond promptly to IT service requests and incidents


Create and manage user accounts and access rights

2. IT Infrastructure Management


Install, configure, and maintain software, operating systems, and applications


Maintain internet connectivity, email systems, and network infrastructure


Ensure proper functioning of computers, printers, and IT peripherals


Monitor system performance and recommend improvements


3. Network & Security Management


Maintain WAN networks and ensure stable connectivity across branches


Support backup and disaster recovery systems


Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures

4. Procurement & Vendor Coordination


Assist in IT procurement processes and vendor evaluation


Review IT-related contracts and service agreements


Coordinate maintenance and support services with suppliers

5. Field Support & Reporting


Travel to branches and sub-branches for technical support when required


Provide regular updates and reports on IT system performance


Support implementation of new systems and technologies


Minimum Qualifications & Requirements


Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field


Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in IT support, networking, or systems administration (preferably in banking or microfinance institutions)


Experience must be supported by certificates of service from previous employers


Good understanding of Core Banking Systems (CBS) and banking operations


Knowledge of WAN networks, domain user management, and system troubleshooting


Professional IT certifications are an added advantage


Strong integrity, professionalism, and problem-solving skills


Ability to work independently and under pressure


Willingness to travel frequently to branches


Applicants should not be above 35 years of age
