Job Summary

Kivu Choice is looking for a qualified and motivated Quality Control (QC) Foreman to join its Quality, Health and Safety Department. The successful candidate will help ensure that fish feeds, processing operations, storage facilities, and logistics activities meet the company's quality, hygiene, and food safety standards.

Main Responsibilities

Feed Quality Control

Inspect and test fish feeds received from suppliers.

Check feed quality, packaging, manufacturing dates, and storage conditions.

Monitor compliance with company quality standards.

Processing Plant Quality and Hygiene

Monitor fish quality throughout processing operations.

Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and work areas.

Supervise hygiene practices and proper use of protective equipment (PPE).

Monitor cold rooms, storage facilities, and logistics centers to maintain food safety standards.

Support implementation of biosecurity measures to prevent contamination and disease outbreaks.

SOP and HACCP Compliance

Ensure staff follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and HACCP food safety requirements.

Conduct quality and food safety training for employees.

Report quality issues, customer complaints, and non-compliance cases.

Participate in investigations and corrective actions related to quality failures or product spoilage.

Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce waste.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate quality control records and reports.

Document all quality inspections, tests, and samples.

Support product traceability and audit requirements.

Submit regular reports to the Quality, Health and Safety Manager.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should have:

A Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management, Food Science, Aquaculture, or a related field.

At least 1–3 years of experience in food quality management or fish handling operations.

Good knowledge of HACCP and food safety management systems.

Understanding of food quality and safety regulations.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
