Job Summary

The Business Branch Manager will be responsible for supervising and coordinating branch operations to ensure effective delivery of financial services. The position requires a person with strong leadership skills, business development abilities, and knowledge of savings, credit management, and financial operations.

The successful applicant will lead branch activities, manage customer relationships, support loan and savings growth, monitor financial performance, and ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulations.

This role requires someone who can combine financial knowledge with excellent leadership and communication skills to achieve business objectives while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities of the Business Branch Manager

The selected candidate will be expected to perform the following duties:

1. Managing Branch Operations

- Oversee daily branch activities and ensure smooth delivery of SACCO services.

- Coordinate branch employees and promote teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.

- Ensure branch operations follow internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

- Monitor service quality and identify areas for improvement.

2. Business Development and Growth

- Develop strategies to increase membership, savings mobilization, and loan portfolio growth.

- Identify new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with existing customers.

- Promote SACCO products and services to potential members.

- Support achievement of branch financial targets.

3. Credit and Loan Management

- Monitor credit activities and ensure responsible lending practices.

- Support loan assessment, approval processes, and recovery activities.

- Follow up on loan performance and reduce risks related to loan defaults.

- Ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures.

4. Customer Relationship Management

- Ensure members receive quality, professional, and timely services.

- Handle customer concerns and provide appropriate solutions.

- Build trust and maintain strong relationships with SACCO members.

- Promote customer satisfaction and loyalty.

5. Financial Planning and Reporting

- Participate in branch budgeting and financial planning.

- Monitor branch income, expenses, and overall performance.

- Prepare reports related to branch operations and business progress.

- Provide recommendations to improve branch performance.

6. Team Leadership and Staff Development

- Guide, supervise, and motivate branch staff.

- Encourage professional development and performance improvement.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Interested candidates must meet the following requirements:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or another related field.

- Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in banking or microfinance.

- Applicants with a Master’s degree must have at least 3 years of relevant experience.

- Proven experience in branch management, financial services, or business operations will be an added advantage.
